Our Mission

Our Mission is to foster camaraderie among United States Veterans of overseas conflicts, to serve our Veterans, the military, and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all Veterans.

Post Meetings

Our Post meets at Sacred Hearts Academy in Kaimuki on the beautiful island of O'ahu. Our meetings are on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Buddy Poppies

We hand out Buddy Poppies several times annually to remind the community of our Veterans. All donation proceeds will go to Veterans in need, their families, and youth scholarships.

Veteran Outreach

Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

Membership

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's qualified military service members into our ranks to become part of our honored group.

WELCOME TO HONOLULU POST 1540

Veterans of Foreign Wars, Honolulu Post 1540

VFW Post 1540 is the oldest Post in existence in the State of Hawaii, having mustered on June 15, 1928. We are proud of our long heritage and many distinguished members to include the Honorable Senator Daniel K. Inouye, who was a Life Member of Post No. 1540 from 1994 to 2012.

Our Post meets at Sacred Hearts Academy in Kaimuki on the beautiful island of O'ahu.  We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

Our next regular in-person Post meeting will be held Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. As always, we will meet at Sacred Hearts Academy, 3253 Waialae Ave in the basement library.
