VFW Post 1540 holds installation dinner to welcome new officers

Peter J.S. Hirai - 5/21/2017

Incoming Commander John T. Kahaloa of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1540 welcomed his new board of officers as he takes office of the oldest Post in Hawaii still in existence. The fiscal year runs from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 and Commander Kahaloa is excited to lead the post. In their annual installation dinner, in which both the post and auxiliary participated, the officers were sworn in by long-time Trustee Roy T. Ota.

Also sworn in were:
Senior Vice Commander Terence M. Bryan
Junior Vice Commander Curtis A. "Manny" Manchester III
and the remainder of the board

Outgoing Commander Nicholas S.T. Young was proud of all that his board accomplished during the past year. "I know I leave the Post in great hands; John is a great leader and very involved with our operations. He cares deeply for Veterans and their Families and his compassion is unmatched."
