Russell Sugai is a life member of the VFW. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served for a total of four years active duty.  He was stationed with the 10st Airborne (Air Assault) Division, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky and the 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Howze, South Korea.  He served as an Infantry Fire Team Leader and then an Infantry Squad Leader, leaving the military as a Sergeant.

He is proud to be associated with his fellow veterans and is very privileged to have been eligible to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1540, based upon his 14 months of military service in South Korea.  He has served as Post 1540 Officer of the Day prior to becoming a 3rd Year Trustee.
