Joshua retired in 2024 after nearly 25 years in the U.S. Army and continues to serve as an Oceania Exercise Planner at United States Army Pacific. He joined the VFW in 2023 and has been with Post 1540 since.

During his uniformed service as a Combat Engineer, Joshua served in variety of Route Clearance operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. While deployed he was assigned to 489^thEngineer Battalion, 130^th Engineer Brigade in Iraq and 555^thEngineer Brigade, Provincial Army Task Force Kunduz (Coalition led) in Afghanistan.

While serving, he was awarded the Combat Action Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1CS), Iraq Campaign Medal (2CS), Global War of Terror Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (3^rd Award), Valorous Unit Citation (Iraq, OIF I), Meritorious Unit Citation (Afghanistan, 2013), and numerous other awards and badges.

Joshua has consistently volunteered in his community though serving on the Delanco Economic Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, Community Events Board of Girl Scouts of America-San Diego, and as a Parent Representative at S.W. King Intermediate School.

He is the proud father of daughter, Eva (15) and son, Isaac (14).
